The Africaday 2011, The day about Africa and international cooperation

The Africaday 2011 takes place in The Hague on October 29. Besides the usual program of workshops, lectures, and debates, there is an ongoing program of short items such as speed dates, interviews, inspirational speeches, African silent disco, film, dance, and various markets.
This year the Africaday focuses on doing business in Africa, multiple debates discuss this issue and on the AfricaWorks!market companies tell about their experiences in Africa.

With
• Minister for International Cooperation Ben Knapen, who will open the day with his vision on the future of development cooperation,
• A debate about doing business in Africa between Dick Benschop (Shell) and Eduard Nazarski (Amnesty International),
• Dance4Life Ambassador Jan Kooijman who will talk about his experiences in Africa,
• Egypt's 'Facebook Girl' Esraa Abdel Fattah who will talk about her role in Egypts revolution this spring,
• And former Minister Jan Pronk, Tineke Ceelen (Stichting Vluchteling), Ton Dietz (African Studies Centre), the Ugandan gay rights activist Kasha Nabagesera, and many more experts from Africa, business life, NGOs and the Dutch and European Parliament.

And also about
Entrepreneurship in Africa, elections, fighting AIDS, the Horn of Africa, commodities, current affairs, thinking of a fair phone, having a one-on-one conversation with guests speakers, and everything about internships, development, and inspirational ideas on what you can do to make development work.
Next to the packed program the day is a perfect opportunity for networking and getting inspired.
