Could you introduce yourself?
My name is Samba Jallow owner and CEO of Batch Enterprises.

What are batch enterprises’ main services?
Batch Enterprises sells basic food stuff products in the Gambian (west Africa) markets. These include: onions, potatoes, sugar, flour, cooking oil, rice, mayonnaise, condense milk, tomato paste, pastas, biscuits, butter garlic and others.

How is Africa for you different than other countries your firm is active in?
Africa is my home continent and there are many good business opportunities available for investors to invest in and my firm is only engage in good business. The reason for that is because most African countries do not have many factories, thereby most of the consumable products or commodities are imported in Africa by the business community for sustenance.

Who are your clients and why do they choose your company?
My clients are found in and out of my country and because of the types goods I offer and efficient services I render to them, they prefer to choose my company.

What are batch enterprises’ future plans in Africa?
The future plans of Batch Enterprises in Africa is to be number one in supplier of food stuff products and other consumable products and commodities and to expand my brand products in the rest of African markets so as to help in reducing poverty, hunger and starvations and to generate employment opportunities for our youths.


Do you see a positive trend for the food sector in Africa?
Yes there is a positive trend for the food sector provided when companies like mine have good business partnership or good business investors in the sector. This is because they invest heavily in the sector so as to make the products needed by the public always available and develop a local agriculture industry just like European or American markets have.

Which African country(ies) are your personal favorite(s) and why?
My favorite country is my own country, Gambia, and the reasons are:
1. it is very stable in terms of crime
b. there is lot of business opportunities for investors since 90%of the products and commodities needed by the people or inhabitants are imported. In this case companies can set up factories to be able to supply other countries too

How did you hear about the NABC?
I found NABC through a search engine

Why did you decide to join the NABC network (what do you expect to gain)?
I decided to join NABC because I want to expand my good business partners or investors for the Gambia market on food and other consumable products or commodities, and to expand my business network for mutual benefits. Finally I expect to gain good business opportunities from NABC which will be based on clean, descent and honest business relationship, for win - win situation.

Which advice would you give to a company that intends to enter the African market?
They should not be afraid of anything because Africa is full of good business opportunities for investment for everyone.
