Exporting to Africa

The network meeting at Van Vliet Trucks Holland BV was well attended by many different NABC member companies. Léon Onderwater started the meeting with his presentation on Van Vliet, mainly focussing on their activities in Africa of course.

Afterwards the group was divided into two groups, due to the large number of the group. Due to the fantastic weather the guided tour around the property was a success. No less than 1500 vehicles are stored here at all time. After a short break Michael van Toledo continued with his presentation on NDS NileDutch and their activities that are concentrated on/in West-Africa. This was the end of the official programme and the speakers and hosts were thanked and presented with an album with African music. Many participants stayed longer for the network cocktail.

As Africa is our main market in the field of commercial vehicles, in NABC we have found the perfect network partner. Because of its widespread African network and the enthusiastic members, we visit the network sessions very often. Three months ago we, in close contact with NABC, organised a network event ourselves on our premises which was visited very well by the members. Such events really help establish a serious relationship.

Not only NABC itself, but also the board members and employees are highly dedicated to support its members. This is the reason why we use their network and their members network for increasing our business in Africa. The NABC members are categorised in many different fields which can spread our opportunities. Also with the NABC there is a chance to meet Ambassadors, Governors and other governmental members which are important contacts for our daily business.

Not only the events and the seminars are worth visiting, but especially the Ambassadors diner in Wassenaar is truly a network event on its own. We haven’t participated in a trade mission yet, but the programmes look very interesting. Probably we will join an interesting one in the future.

All of this results in a pleasant relationship and we hope to continue this for many years.
