Friday 18 December
On December 18, the president of Oromia Region in Ethiopia is visiting the Netherlands. The Netherlands-African Business Council (NABC) and the Centre for Promotion of Imports (CBI) are organizing a matchmaking session with the president and his delegation. The event is open for companies interested in investing in Ethiopia and the Oromia Region in particular.

Oromia Region is the largest province in Ethiopia, both in size and population (24 million inhabitants). In particular the agricultural sector offers numerous possibilities to the Dutch private sector. Besides floriculture, for which the country is well-known, meat-processing and horticulture offer serious potential as well. For example, Ethiopia has one of the largest cattle stocks in the world (80 million of cows, goats and chickens) and its geographical location makes the country an attractive center for export of processed meat to the Middle East and Egypte. In addition, with 80 million inhabitants Ethiopia has an attractive local market as well. Other promising sectors are dairy, fishing, vegetable oils and oil seeds.

The president of Oromia Region plays an important role in attracting foreign investment and the matchmaking event on December 18 is an excellent opportunity to learn more the region and the possibilities the province have to offer.

The event will be hosted by CBI in Rotterdam. There are a limited number of places available. For registration or questions, please contact Henk Veldman at 070-304 3618 or henk.veldman@nabc.nl.
