Published on: 05-Mar-2015

Accra, 3 March 2015 – The Ghana Netherlands Business and Culture Chamber (GNBCC) will be launched today. The GNBCC is the result of a strong collaboration between the former Ghana Netherlands Chamber of Commerce and Culture (GHANECC) and the Netherlands African Business Council (NABC). Caecilia Wijgers, the acting Ambassador of the Netherlands to Ghana, the Board of GHANECC as well as other dignitaries from the Ghanaian and Dutch business communities will be present at the launch.”

The GNBCC is the result of a strong collaboration between the former GHANECC and the Netherlands African Business Council (NABC).

GHANECC has for the past 10 years been the key intermediary agency that facilitates and supports business cooperation between Ghana and the Netherlands. Besides encouraging trade and investment GHANECC has also strived to foster cultural understanding between both countries. GHANECC, with its years of experience and excellent contacts in the Ghanaian market, has also offered a variety of business services and events to its members.

NABC (Netherlands African Business Council) is an active organisation of Dutch entrepreneurs that conducts business in Africa and through their activities promote sustainable development of the African continent. Founded in 1946, NABC, serves as a platform for the Dutch private sector in Africa by providing business services to its members and promoting trade and investment in Africa.

Going forward therefore, GHANECC and NABC are merging their efforts, networks and activities into the GNBCC, and this entity will represent the business interests of both Ghanaian and Dutch companies while working closely together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in Ghana.

In line with its objective of supporting corporate entities perform their operations seamlessly by making the requisite regulatory, financial and business-related information available to them, GNBCC has published the “Doing Business in Ghana” book which will also be launched during the evening.

As summarised by Victor Rutgers, President of GNBCC, who stressed the vibrant economic partnerships and business relationships that exist between the Netherlands and Ghana: “the main objective of GNBCC is to facilitate and build upon these business relationships to the benefit of both Ghana and the Netherlands”.
