Africa Business Club - March
For the last African Business Club before the summer break (in June we organize the annual BBQ), NABC partners up with KPMG. This Business Club will take place at the office of KPMG in Amstelveen.
For this event we will offer you two high-level key-note speakers. Mr Sven Byl, employed at KPMG South-Africa, will shed a light during an interactive session on the rising African middle class and how this results in plenty of different business opportunities. Hereafter, Mr Peter Niekus, Rabobank, will take the floor discussing the upcoming challenges and chances in Africa.

Master of ceremony: Maryn Kleingeld
Bob van der Bijl: Bob van der Bijl is the Managing Director of the Netherlands-African Business Council (NABC). Bob holds a Master-degree in Economics and he has been the driver of NABC’s growth since 2007. His responsibilities include business development; government relations; political lobby; consumer markets & (financial) services and advising African governments on trade and investment promotion. With more than 15 years of experience in the field of doing business in Africa, Bob is an expert in exploring business opportunities in Africa.
Sven Byl: is the Head of Healthcare for South Africa and Africa. In this capacity, he leads KPMG’s healthcare work across the continent. He is passionate about improving healthcare across the region and partners with clients to develop opportunities in health system improvement, collaboration, and the implementation of new organisational strategies. Before joining KPMG in South Africa, Sven served as KPMG’s Global Executive
Director (for the International network of KPMG) where he advised government officials, public and private providers and payers on healthcare reform, innovation, regulatory policy and quality. He is a highly sought after advisor to payers and providers alike, his work has brought him to over 33 countries. Sven has a M.A. in public administration and public policy and a Hon. B.A. in political science and philosophy. He is a member of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in the UK.
Peter Niekus: Peter Niekus presents Rabobank’s journey into Africa, detailing amongst others the services and financing solutions offered in Africa. Furthermore, Peter will also present Rabobank’s ideas on future developments in Africa. Within Rabobank (International) Peter is currently responsible for supporting clients of Rabobank in Africa. In total Peter has been working for 34 years for Rabobank, with a focus on international trade and agri business.
