Description

On the 18th of October from 17:00 – 19:30, NABC welcomes members and contacts to join for a unique networking reception at the NABC’s World Trade Centre office in The Hague. The vernissage of young Kenyan artist, Adam Masava, will exhibit his project ‘On.’ – a visual statement redefining what it means to be raised in Kenyan slums.

Growing up in Mukuru, one of the slums of Nairobi, Masava found life to be challenging; therefore, painting was a way to escape and express himself. Project ‘On.’ documents the journey of using art as a tool of expression to discovering an opportunity to helping others by showing the beauty of the environment they live in. Adam says: “Often when talking about people living in slums, slum life is perceived as a negative, sad way of living, and as an artist who grew up in a slum, I feel that I have a responsibility to teach and correct those stereotypes.”

The vernissage will be the ideal occasion to discuss business and admire art all while enjoying a bite and a drink. Limited spaces available.  Register now to confirm your attendance!
