These sessions will give you the opportunity to meet and greet with the local Zimbabwean Business community and explore new business opportunities. This trade mission can be combined with the Avi Africa in South Africa organised by the SAPA (for the livestock participants).
Location: Harare, Zimbabwe
Track 3: Smart Cities/Smart Mobility
Cities all around the world struggle with questions on how to deal with Smart Cities, how do we need to change the policy, how to (re-)develop cities, et cetera. Also Harare has to deal with these dilemma’s and is in desperate need of innovation. But there is also a big chance for innovative entrepreneurs.
In the heart of the South African continent, Zimbabwe has a strong starting position to become a leading country in this development of whole South-Africa. The high density of smartphones can support travel pattern research but also gives the possibility to implement 'Smart City and Mobility' as a 'service concept'. There is a low depreciation of infrastructure and a growing demand for human and freight transport in Zimbabwe and the countries around Zimbabwe. Additionally, there are good possibilities for solar and hydro energy and no boundaries on old-fashioned policy, regulations and systems. New and innovative thinking will be needed to create integral energy, urban and infrastructure development.
Trade mission participation fee for all tracks: € 1250,- (excl. VAT) for NABC and SANEC members and € 1500,- (excl. VAT) for non-NABC members
(You can make use of a missionvoucher and retrieve half of the mission fee if your application fits the voucher requirements.)

"Last December I participated in a trade mission to Cameroon, organized by The Netherlands African Business Council. This was not my first trade mission but this was definitely the one best organized!
In one week time we visited Yaoundé (capital city with government institutions), Douala (main economical center) and Kribi (deep see port with a new container terminal). During this trip we enjoyed a good balance between visits to government institutions, presentations from local stakeholders, visits to companies, two networking receptions and several Business to Business sessions. There was also time to leave the group and to visit some own (potential) clients. All together a very effective 1 week trade mission, resulting finally in several good business leads.
I like to thank the two ladies who headed this mission, Marina Diboma and Quirine de Graaf, for their very professional approach and good organisation skills." Guus van Bilsen, director/owner LIBITCO BV
