From the 18th to the 23rd of November 2018, RVO, supported by NABC will organize a horticultural and agrofood trade mission to Agrofood West Africa in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.

For whom?

This mission is interesting for companies and knowledge institutions that focus on agrofood, horticulture and industrialization of products in these areas. Please note: to do business successfully on the Ivorian market and in the West African region, it is essential that you speak French well.

The program of this mission will take place partly at and during the Agrofood West Africa Fair 2018 from 20th - 22nd of November, where Dutch companies have the opportunity to present themselves as valuable trading partners and experts in the field of agrofood, agriculture & horticulture.

Why exhibit at AgroFood West Africa?

  • Agriculture and the food industry, especially in Abidjan, have been very dynamic for years, both in production and processing.
  • Both sectors also enjoy a prominent regional position. They supply not only the domestic market but also the other francophone countries of the region, such as Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, Niger, Togo and Benin.
  • The French-speaking West Africa is a rather homogenous market of about 110 million inhabitants.
  • The increasing demand for food throughout West Africa and the good general economic situation in Côte d'Ivoire continues to offer positive prospects for suppliers of agrofood technology.
  • Except Guinee, all countries use the CFA franc, which is linked to the euro. The currency facilitates not only the overseas export of machinery from Europe and Asia to Abidjan, but also the export of food within the French-speaking countries of West Africa.
  • Expanding retail needs high quality food.

Register is open until October 12th 2018 via the RVO website. RVO is committed to ensuring that the companies that take part are well within the stated set-up and substantive focus. The applications are assessed in order of arrival. There is a maximum of 15 companies. Registration therefore does not automatically imply admission to the mission.

The costs of participation are € 450 per organization (max. 2 participants per organization). This includes participation in the program components, individual matchmaking, collective local transport and local support during the stay in Côte d'Ivoire. Travel and accommodation costs and any additional costs in the context of individual matchmaking (such as interpreters and individual transport) are for own account. A travel agency has been asked to put together a travel arrangement.
