Description

Are you involved in climate-smart agriculture or irrigation and water management for sustainable agriculture? Are you looking to expand your network to different countries? Join us on a trade mission to West-Africa (Ghana) from the 6th to the 12th of October and uncover the chances for your company there!

The northern parts of Ghana (and Côte d'Ivoire and Nigeria) are facing problems induced by climate change, drought and the rough terrain. In these areas there is a large need for food, for both people and livestock, but the location, climate variability, human activity in close proximity to waterbodies and a lack of technology and knowhow create a challenging environment for sustainable agriculture in West-Africa. Therefore, irrigation is one of the big topics in West Africa including the Sahel. This mission has a dual purpose; the mission offers market opportunities for Dutch suppliers of innovative and sustainable agri- and irrigation solutions, and opportunities for the development of mid- and long-term projects and partnerships in the area of sustainable agriculture, irrigation and water management. This mission will be the starting point for the formation and development of integral and multi-stakeholder (GH-NL) partnerships and projects that aim to contribute to sustainable development locally in respect to the land, water, food nexus.

For who?
The target group of this mission consists of Dutch companies that are active in advisory, services, equipment and other solutions related to sustainable agriculture and water management for improved agri- & horticulture. Public parties and knowledge institutes are also invited to participate.

Registration for this mission can be done via the RVO webpage. This mission is organized in close cooperation with RVO.
