NABC organized a healthcare mission in cooperation with Task Force Health Care to Ghana from April 21-26, 2013.  The objective of this mission was “Improving healthcare in Ghana on a sustainable matter through bilateral collaboration and cooperation.” The Dutch healthcare delegation to Ghana consisted of Knowledge-institutions, companies and NGOs. Besides, Agentschap NL also participated, illustrating the possibility of public and private actors to work together for development and business.

The delegation explored their business opportunities through meetings with important stakeholders of the Ghanaian healthcare system (inter alia the African Development Bank, IFC, WB, WHO, NHIS, USAID), besides there was a very interactive and fruitful business seminar and a network reception. The main topics of interest for both the Dutch delegation and Ghanaian stakeholders were: Non-Communicable Diseases, Mother and Child Care, Sexual Reproductive Health, Health System Strengthening, Public Health, Supply Chain Management, Access to Healthcare and Rural Healthcare. The ultimate aim was to match Ghanaian needs with Dutch know-how and expertise, perfectly illustrating the possibility of business and development to go hand-in-hand.
